My feeling to the end of the novel was kind of mad it had no meaning to it nothing gave me a happy smile or even made me feel any kind of surprised or sadness it was just blah. I mean his dad just died in front of him he was all alone now then blame he was saved what kind of ending is that. I mean I know I was supposed to feel rejuvenize that he was saved but I wasn't and the way his father died was so boring that it really didn't hit me like it was meant to do I mean I felt bad that now he was alone but I was expecting him to die in some outrageous way but I got nothing. So yeah my final verdict on either the book was good or not is a no because the book start of as a dull book nothing was really going on it was pretty boring then the it too to page 60 to actually kick up the action then it left of with a terrible ending you as a reader would forget this book in, t minus 1 hour yup already forgotten so yeah that it I didn't like and hope never read it again
My final thought about this unit and what I learned in the book was that it was really interesting to see Elie story about what he went through. Find out what really happen to these people actually gave me and a emotional feeling meaning mad feeling but. Come down to the typing in blogging it was kind of interesting to see people to respond to what I posted and actually made me feel very grateful to all who did it and wanted to say thank you. But the blog itself a whole different story it wasn't at exciting and kind of made me mad because all my post wasn’t able to get posted, and I felt as though they should have been. That was my final thought on this unit goodbye.
Even though I have not read this book, I would be dissapointed with an ending like that as well. If the dad just died in front of his son, and there was no sort of emotional feeling there, that's a pretty terrible ending. I believe in every good book you should be able to feel what the character is feeling, and if the book doesn't state any emotional feelings coming from the boy as his father dies in front of him, how are you supposed to feel? Even if the boy didn't care, which was what was shown in the book, since they gave him no emotion in that part, they should have at least stated something to say how he felt, even if he didn't really feel much at all. Just so you know what the character is going through. -Maddy M
ReplyDeleteI see where you're coming from. But did you try looking at the book as if you were Elie? He made it really detailed, almost as if you were there with him. The reason he didn't put his own opinions in the book is because he wanted you to have your own reaction. You're, like, thinking of the book in general. Keep an open mind, mann.
ReplyDeleteLevar,
ReplyDeleteWhat impresses me is the strength of your decisions, and that they are not what you are supposed to think. I think that one of the purposes of this exercise is to help us learn to think and feel about things and then to express what we think and feel. Knowing how you feel and think, especially when it's not what you are supposed to think or what everybody else thinks is great learning point to take away from this. Congratulations.

I love your post, but around the fourth to last line of the paragraphs the sentence doesn't really make sense. "boring then the it too to page 60" it doesn't really make sense you should put in some commas or fix the sentence whichever would be best. Also sentence seems to be a run-on your commas aren't really were there suppose to be and in the second line to the bottom towards the end it has another mistake also. "I didn't like and hope never read it again." I think you meant to put an "I" in the middle of and, and hope. You gave a honest opinion of the book, and I think that books should also have happy endings, but not all stories have happy endings some end in tragic ways like in real life sometimes. You gave a good opinion of the book, but I think you should of put in detail of what kind of things made you emotional like what kinds of things touched your heart. You did a very good.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I mean I'm sure there was some kind of emotion, considering his dad died in front of him. I believe in every book, there should me emotion that makes you feel like you're actually there, and witnessing what they characters are. You should be able to feel the way the characters must feel. At the moment of his dad dying, there should of been some kind of feeling, whether explaining that the boy had no emotion towards this, or explaining that he was upset, just showing something. But, how come you said it was boring with no emotion, but then said it was interesting? That's my question. -Maddy M
